three little letters

no one wants to hear...
u.t.i.

so the little brown bottle
sits near the sink
ugh
meds and me...we don't get along
too well
my body just feels off
well...
until i'm off of them.

until then
i will combat the evil necessity
with a diet rich in
yogurt.

yogurt with
homemade granola...

yogurt
in a breakfast
waldorf

or
just plain ol' yogurt
oh...
and lots of water
and cranberry...
in juice, pill or fruit
form.

and any suggestions you may have!
my urinary track
 thanks you.

conversations

Yesterday,
I woke with a prayer on my heart.
I laid in bed and talked to God.
Marvelled, actually.

It felt like a wonderful gift...
the waking in prayer,
 the understanding of
 His truth.

Right now.
Those were the words that
called to me from sleep.

Right now...
I am making flaxseed and cranberry muffins
enjoying the view from my window.

Right now
of yesterday spoke of love.

God's love for me.

Thank you, God for loving me.
The person I am right now.
Not the person I want to be...hope to be...
try to be.
Thank you, Lord for loving
the person I am...
right now...
this selfish, sinful, clumsy, messy,
sometimes ugly person
I am.

I would be lost without
Your love.

Your love centers me,
 strengthens me,
gives me a peace
 beyond understanding.

Your love
is an anchor to my
soul.

Thank you, Lord
for loving me...
as is.

amen.

trans-venue-able

Yep...
I'm making up words...
but bear with me.

trans- prefix 1 across, beyond.
venue n. place for a match, meeting, concert, etc.
-able suffix that may or must be (eatable, payable...
trans-venue-able.)

You are listening to the sounds
of Love Song
written by The Cure
performed by 311.

An old song given new life
with a fresh voice and an
 island beat.

An old song given new meaning...
by way of
venue.
Not to be sung at a club...
but The Club...

church.

Listen to the words.

Whenever I'm alone with You
You make me feel...
home again
whole again
young again
fun again
free again
clean again

I will be spending
much of the week with
my guitar

To learn a new vibe
get the rhythm
just right

get my mind wrapped around
this new
 interpretation

Shouldn't be hard
with lyrics
that lend themselves to
praising God.

However far away
I will always love You.

However long I stay
I will always love You.

Whatever words I say
I will always love You.

I will always love You.

This week Sheryl Crow
will get bumped for
the sounds of
Bob Marley.

I need to get my reggae on for God.
amen.

outside in

About a month ago I started spotting
a pale blue and soft green palette
emerging in the
decorating world.

It seemed to pop up everywhere.
I first saw it on the
set of White Collar
loved it!
There it was again on a paint
commercial...
on clothing...
a shower curtain...and
throw pillows.
Everywhere.

My home is earthy...
pale blue and zen green?

Then something miraculous
began happening...

the world
came to
life...
in shades of
 blue and green.

And I began looking at my
earth-tones
with a new
eye.

There it was
all along...
hiding in cupboards and
stored away
in drawers.

Wanting to play
center stage again.

Now.

The time when everything has new life.

Blues and greens...
and a splash of
yellow.

Welcome home Spring!

promise

The window next to my
computer desk is
open!

The birds are singing
their sweet
song.

The promise of a
70 degree
day.

My heart
is
dancing with
pure joy!

three

My sweet grand-baby girl
turns three
today!

My baby boy...
Kierstin's Daddy...
lit the candles.

Kierstin led us in singing
Happy Birthday...
all smiles.

She opted to eat her special cake
with a knife...
three-year-olds
can do that.

Because three-year-olds
don't like messy
fingers.

My baby boys were
given the job of
serving cake and ice cream.
Weren't they just three?

Kay-kay likes her
great grandma...
and a messy face is
just fine with
her!

Surrounded by a whole
lotta love...
Kierstin set out to
open her
huge pile of presents!

Kaylee liked the
packaging and
wand the
best.

When Kierstin opened
her own Hello Kitty
lotion and lip stick...
she could have ended the
party there.
She found her bliss.
(Grandma Jenny knows what
her baby girl loves most ;)

All the beautiful gifts...
but she kept her eye on three things...
lotion, lipstick, tic-tacs...
the important things in life.

All the presents opened...
she loaded her new Thomas book bag
with her vital necessities...
lotion, lipstick, tic-tacs.

Uncle Jake helping her
with the...
you guessed it!
lotion.

Happy 3rd Birthday
Kierstin Renea!
Grandma loves you
with her whole heart!

I hope all your days
 are filled with
such simple
joys.
