~summer lovin'~

62.
That's how many days
are left
before the
Fall Equinox

So
don't let
those
back to school ads

end of summer
clearance sales

the first red leaf
on the burning bush

slightly shortening
hours of
day light

rain on your
sunny
day

Summer's
out there
waiting for you

to take notice

to get out
 in it

put on your
rose-colored
glasses

hang out by the pool
with a cooler full of ice

read a good book

breath in the fresh air

swing and sway on a hammock

at night
with a citronella candle burning

enjoying the symphony of sounds
sung by the
nighttime insects

That cannot be the locust I hear...
Can it?!

Hush, now...

Let's share a dream
plan our next day together

but
not before looking
at the last bit of light
left in this day
and
deciding that
now
is the perfect time to go for
a walk/jog
at a nearby park
where a baseball game lights the field
lighting our way
through this glorious
day
of summer.

  1. How beautiful! I love the way you write. Your words read like a song. :-)
On a side note : We went to Costco tonight and they had Halloween candy and Xmas decorations... That is all I have to say about that! *gulps*

    1. Yikes! Get outta here! Halloween? Christmas?!

Just breathe...hold onto time like a tug-of-war vs. big business...I've got your back and I'm pretty sure all those moms out there will grab a hold of the rope as well!

Thanks for stopping by...and for your oh, so kind words. :)

  2. Thanks for the reminder! I did see the entire center aisles of Michael's filled with autumn this week, and I got my first catalog in the mail with pumpkins. aack! I love fall, but that's too soon! (I did finally pull out my black-eyed susan flowers for the kitchen table...the forsythias were a little past their due date!) LOVE the new hammock chair, and hope to give it a test run before the summer is over!
    Love you!
