ugly fish

transitional

in the process of changing

warming to the idea

maybe with a good dose of

acceptance

sprinkled in

like flipping the calender

and finding a picture of an ugly fish

and thinking

that is the best that lang and warren kimble

could do for the month of easter?

i get to live with an ugly fish for

thirty days?!

then rationalizing

finding the good in it

the fish is after all

a symbol of

discipleship

yeah

i will go with that

like emptying my closet

of all things winter

so many shades of gray

black and brown

who knew?

craving color

sweaters laundered and folded

corduroy pants

ditto

flannel sheets were

put in storage last month

when we reached 80 degree days

flannel shirts were just added to the

pile of must go-s

and now they sit and wait

to get to their new home

the attic

where my spring shopping awaits

and waits

for the return of warmer weather

with highs around fifty

i think i will keep these piles

handy

for a wee bit longer

in other words

they remain as pictured above

on to day four

waiting

speaking of easter

what?!

i was just a few

words back!

each year i have a vision

of dyeing our eggs

naturally

with onion peels

beets

herbs and spices

whatever

this year i decided to forgo

and release that

stage of

intention

and i moved directly to

paas

cool

tie dyed eggs

i side stepped the

annual guilt

and

moved right to

acceptance

even cooler

but some things are easier to accept

than others

transitions can be difficult

sometimes its just best

to put a smile on

your face

and fake it through

and know

this too shall pass
